The Future Games Show Summer Showcase 2026 and FGS Live From Los Angeles delivered one of the biggest gaming showcases of the year on June 6, featuring more than 40 games from AAA publishers and independent studios, including 11 world premieres, major announcements, surprise updates, and an extended gameplay presentation for the upcoming sci-fi RPG EXODUS.

Hosted by industry veterans Alix Wilton Regan and Troy Baker, this year’s showcase covered everything from major franchise returns and horror experiences to strategy games, RPGs, platformers, extraction shooters, and indie surprises.

Several major reveals immediately stood out during the event:

Arizona Sunshine Returns Beyond VR

The showcase opened with the world premiere of Arizona Sunshine, a flatscreen remake of the popular VR zombie shooter, bringing the undead apocalypse to traditional PC and console audiences.

Ace Combat 8 Finally Revealed

Bandai Namco offered a closer look at ACE COMBAT 8: Wings of Theve, confirming its arrival on PC and consoles on October 2, 2026. The new installment continues the franchise’s signature high-speed aerial combat and cinematic storytelling.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Returns

Ubisoft officially showcased Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a modern reimagining of Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure. The remake launches July 9, 2026, across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Tomb Raider’s Origins Reimagined

Crystal Dynamics shared new details about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a full reimagining of Lara Croft’s original adventure, scheduled for release on February 12, 2027.

The event concluded with an extensive gameplay deep dive into EXODUS, Archetype Entertainment’s highly anticipated sci-fi RPG. The presentation highlighted narrative choices, companions, exploration, and combat systems ahead of its planned early 2027 launch.

Horror Games Had A Massive Presence

Horror fans had plenty to celebrate throughout both broadcasts.

Among the standout reveals were:

  • The Pines, a psychological horror investigation game set inside a mysterious facility.
  • Halloween: The Game, featuring Michael Myers’ origin story.
  • The Sinking City 2, which showcased new Lovecraftian horrors and combat sequences.
  • CORDURA, a multiplayer horror title where enemies imitate your friends.
  • Impermanence, a psychological horror experience centered around lost memories.
  • Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, bringing the iconic horror universe into gaming once again.
  • Dark Mass, an underwater horror adventure exploring cursed ruins beneath the ocean.
  • Finding Frankie 2, the sequel to the popular horror parkour experience.

The horror genre was arguably one of the biggest winners of the entire showcase.

Indie Games Continue To Shine

The event also highlighted a wide variety of promising indie projects.

Duskfade

A colorful 3D action-platformer inspired by classic genre favorites, launching August 13, 2026.

BioEden

A nature restoration simulation where players rebuild ecosystems and help life return to a devastated world.

Skatesterre

A retro-inspired skateboarding game created with input from social media skating star Sterre Meijer.

DeadRoot

A charming new Metroidvania starring an armed snail exploring a dangerous medieval world.

Shark Dentist

One of the event’s most unusual reveals, combining roguelike mechanics with the terrifying task of cleaning a shark’s teeth without becoming lunch.

My Cannibal Family

A darkly comedic management simulator where players operate a theme park designed to lure unsuspecting visitors.

Major DLC, Expansions and Updates

Several existing games also received substantial new content announcements.

Little Nightmares III: The Backstage

A brand-new DLC expansion taking players beneath the Carnevale arrives June 12.

Blasphemous 2: The Third Sin

The surprise expansion was shadow-dropped during the showcase and is available now.
