Ubisoft has taken another step in its ongoing restructuring. The company has appointed industry veteran Christoph Hartmann as General Manager of Creative House 2.
This new business unit will oversee several major franchises, including Splinter Cell, The Division, and Ghost Recon. It will also manage the recently acquired multiplayer title March of Giants.
A Veteran Executive Joins Ubisoft’s New Leadership Structure
Christoph Hartmann brings extensive industry experience to Ubisoft’s new organization model.
He is best known for founding and leading 2K Games during its rapid growth. He later joined Amazon to head its gaming division before leaving earlier this year.
In his new role, Hartmann will guide the strategy and long-term development of Creative House 2. This unit is one of the key pillars of Ubisoft’s restructuring plan.
Creative House 2 Takes Control of Major Ubisoft Franchises
Creative House 2 is responsible for several of Ubisoft’s core action and tactical franchises.
Its portfolio includes:
- Splinter Cell
- The Division
- Ghost Recon
- March of Giants
March of Giants joins after Ubisoft acquired the project from Amazon in late 2025.
Under Ubisoft’s new structure, Creative Houses have more autonomy over their IPs. They are still supported by central publishing and business teams.
Ubisoft Continues Its Organizational Transformation
This appointment marks another step in Ubisoft’s broader restructuring.
Earlier this year, the company introduced its Creative House model. The goal is to simplify franchise management and give development teams clearer leadership focused on long-term growth.
Creative House 1 has already been renamed Vantage Studios. It oversees Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six under Charlie Guillemot.
Creative House 2 now becomes the second major pillar of this structure. It places Hartmann in charge of several of Ubisoft’s most established franchises.
Leadership Focused on Long-Term Franchise Growth
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot described Hartmann as a leader who combines creative vision with strong publishing experience.
The company says his role goes beyond production oversight. He will help shape franchise strategy, support development teams, and strengthen the connection between Ubisoft brands and their communities.
Hartmann also highlighted the work of teams across Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Toronto, and the March of Giants developers. He emphasized a focus on building strong and memorable player experiences.
Key Takeaway
Christoph Hartmann’s appointment reinforces Ubisoft’s shift toward a franchise-based leadership structure.
Creative House 2 now oversees Splinter Cell, The Division, Ghost Recon, and March of Giants. It is set to become a central part of Ubisoft’s long-term strategy as the company continues reorganizing around its major IPs.
